African Drumming Classes

Ibro iteaches the following weekly African drumming classes:

About the classes

You will be taught traditional rhythms, exactly as they are
played in Guinea, by one of the top African Drummers in the UK.

You will be learning in the traditional African way, enabling you to quickly develop good technique, fluency, speed and stamina!

Suitable for players of all abilities, from beginner to advanced.
Absolute beginners are very welcome!

Cost, Drum Hire and Contact Details

Classes cost £7 (£5 concessions). Drum hire is £1.

Travelling by Bus

The 410 from Birkenhead Bus Station, and the 432 and 433 from Liverpool City Centre all stop on Rowson Street, New Brighton. The bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from the venue.

From Rowson Street, turn left into Magazine Lane, then third left onto Woodland Drive which is opposite Vale Park. Vale House is situated within the grounds of Vale Park, just past the car park.

Travelling by Train

New Brighton Train Station is about a 15 minute walk from the venue.

Come out of the Station's main entrance on Atherton Street and turn right. At the top of the road turn left onto Cressingham Road. At the traffic lights, turn right up Rowson Street and continue up the road for about 5 minutes. Turn left into Magazine Lane, then third left onto Woodland Drive which is opposite Vale Park. Vale House is situated within the grounds of Vale Park, just past the car park.

Travelling by Car

Vale House is situated within Vale Park. It is best accessed using the entrance on Woodland Drive. There is ample parking available in the car park outside the venue.

From The M53:
Follow the motorwary towards Birkenhead and Wallasey, then at the last roundabout before the motorway ends take the A554 to New Brighton. Follow the road along the promenade and then up towards Liscard. Turn left into Magazine Lane. Woodland Drive is the third road on the left, opposite the park.

From Liverpool:
Go through the Wallasey Tunnel and follow the signs to the M53. At the first roundabout, follow the signs towards the A554 to New Brighton. Follow the road along the promenade and then up towards Liscard. Turn left into Magazine Lane. Woodland Drive is the third road on the left, opposite the park.
